“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey

When I was looking for stories to talk about here on my article “One Man’s Opinion” here on my website I saw a story that as a African American got me very upset.

The story is about young female African American tennis star Coco Gauff and her having to deal with racism online by many many crazy and terrible people I ask WHY does she have to deal with this BS. This BS just should NOT happen. Because it seems she is just a real nice and down to earth young lady.

Sorry to say racism is alive and well. This is sad. This is wrong. This is a outrage.  The United Nations Human Rights Office has condemned racist online abuse directed at Coco following a controversial point during her match at the China Open.

Gauff faced home player Sun Xinran at the recent China Open. A disputed point sparked big time reaction on social media. THIS IS JUST WRONG LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Coco said that she obtained an insane amount of racist and hateful comments online following the incident. THIS IS CRAZY!!!

High Commission Volker Turk’s office issued a statement denouncing the racist online comments about Coco. Saying that African American athetes face a disproportionate amount Great of racist and sexiest views online.

“There is no place in sport for racist or sexist slurs and abuse” the United Nations human right office said. “Players, coaches and sports bodies need to stand up for those facing such attacks and fans need to push back against those who sully sport with racism and sexism ” they went on to say. Great views that I agree with 1000%!!

I feel sorry for Coco. All she wants to do is play a sport she loves and a sport she is very good at. She should NOT have to deal with racist fools saying racist things about her online. Of course saying racist things online instead of in her face.

Here is the problem. Will the racism stop? I say hell no it will not. If anything it will get much worse. Because of the man in the White House, racism is alive and well. Racism  and racist has come out much more in the open sorry to say. As a black man in America, I can say this for a fact readers.

I hope Coco will stay strong and do not let crazy racist run her away from sport she loves. There is a reason she is in the Top 5 in the world for lady tennis players!!
