Ladies and gentlemen I am a tremendous basketball fan. I can watch a high school game, college game, WNBA game and of course a NBA game. I just love the game of basketball. And millions of others do too.
Turn on your TV and you will see fomer or current basketball stars doing hella of commercials or marketing products. You will see Barkley (plenty of commercials), Curry (plenty of commercials, Lebron, Shag (plenty of commercials), Kevin Garnett, Damian “Dame DOLLA) Lillard, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul (plenty of commercials), Jason Tatum, Seattle Storm legend Sue Bird, “The Doctor” Erving, Magic Johnson, “The King” Micheal Jordan, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, Jimmy Butler, Kendrick Perkins, Larry Bird,
And more including Coach K, Anthony Davis, Seattle Storm star Jewell Lloyd, Dawn Staley, CJ McCollum, Karl Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, Caitlin Clark & more. Hoop players/coaches are very visible on TV.
Just like ex Seattle Sonics “The Glove” Gary Payton and “The Reign Man” Shawn Kemp. Our Sonics of course left our city in 2008 for OKC when Clay Bennett moved the team. Bennett is from OKC so he had it in his mind to move our Sonics.
But also the owner of Starbucks (will not use his name) should not have sold the team to Bennett and should asked Bennett if he would keep the Sonics here in Seattle.
But I guess that question never came up. Our Sonics after 41 years was gone. All NBA fans like myself was big time hurt. As I type this, I am hurt. I am a NBA junky. I am a hoops junky. I love the sport of hoops. How could our city be without the NBA? Unreal.
A lot of fans said they would never watch the NBA again after the team left. In my mind they are not true NBA fans. I would continue to watch the sport I love. Watch the players from the Seattle area like my friend Jamal “J Crossover” Crawford, Brandon Roy, Nate Robinson, Dejontae Murrey, Spencer Hawes and many others.
Right now, the ball is in Adam Silver’s side of the court. Right now there is new TV deal to be made with includes ABC or NBC or Disney, or TNT and Amazon. Right now, the very popular “Inside The NBA” with Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Charles Barkley is in limbo sorry to say. The program is a many time Emmy winner.
The best in studio program in pro sports in America. Something needs to be done to save the program. It just cannot end if your are a NBA fan.
Here in Seattle, we have remodeled Key Arena which is now the beautiful Climate Pledge Arena where the Sonics will play when the team returns to the NBA. The question is when will the Sonics return. A team that should have NEVER left!
Yes Las Vegas and Seattle are the top of the list for a new team. Rumors are Silver will make a announcement about a new team here in Seattle soon. That would make me so very very happy.
It would make all NBA fans in the Seattle-Tacoma area happy. The Sonics vs Portland battle can be revived again!! Who knows, Vancouver BC may also obtain a new team again. Remember they had a team, the Grizzlies. Who of course moved to Memphis.
Of course, I will be back with more thoughts of the possible return of the Seattle Supersonics to our city of Seattle. NBA fans here are waiting on pins and needles for Adam Silver to make a huge announcement on this issue.
