I have been in the music industry since December of 1990 as the producer of Seattle, Washington based “Music Inner City TV” I always wanted to be in the music industry with my own program.

And with god’s help without going to broadcasting school, I taught myself how to edit and produce a television program. It was not easy but I somehow did it. Of course I am still learning.

Living out my dream in having my own TV program along with my website, “Music Inner City News Magazine” which has been online since 2000.

Our website is at http://www.musicinnercity.comĀ

In 2005 I had a TERRIBLE fire here in Seattle in which I lost everything. All my interviews up to then, production equipment, Everything ladies and gentlemen. It was devastating.

I contacted Musicare about my fire. And they helped me big time. I will never forget how they listened to me and helped me so I could continue production of my media with the help also of other organizations like the Red Cross and more.

Musicare is a organization that is set up to assist people in the music industry who are in need of help after a health problem or other problems that the organization can help with.

Speaking of help, as many of you know, the Los Angeles area was affected by a TERRIBLE series of wildfires a few months ago. It affected hundreds or even thousands of people in the music industry and out. I watched online how terrible the wildfires were. People are still suffering.

So Musicare decided to help as much as they could. Recently local musicians, engineers, producers, and other music professionals got together got together for mental health appointments, physical therapy, vision care, hearing support including custom ear molds & more.

The day turned into a day where survivorsĀ  could connect , many for the first time and share what they’ve carried since evacuating their homes. Many had lived in for decades. I watched on You Tube L.A. area families talking about things they lost forever. It had me crying ladies and gentlemen.

Many folks lost home studios, lifelong gear collections, generational homes as I mentioned. Some music industry folks have lived nowhere else but in the area that was affected by the devesting wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

Ladies and gentlemen the day started as a free Health & Wellness Clinic in Altadena. But it turned into much much more.

People in the music industry in the area needed help. Musicare was there to help. The organization helped with:

-Emergency financial assistance for basic living needs/Relocation support/mortgage & lease assistance/instrument replacement/long-term customized care through case management

The clinic held by Musicare in the L,A. area showed the strength and resilience of the Los Angeles area music community. For sure much more help is still needed. A one day event will not finish the job of helping so many people and families recover.

Big thanks go out to Musicare. A wonderful organization who helps out so many people in need of help in the music community. They helped me years ago and they will continue to assist folks in the music community. To learn more about Musicare the link to their website is below.
