It was the first time Music Inner City has covered the AMA’s in our 18 year history. It was a lot of fun being able to cover the red carpet and media room. On the carpet a lot of the performers just passed us by so we had to get who we could for short interviews or Music Inner City/Seattle shout outs.

Among the performers in future weeks on MIC-TV @ the AMA’s include Wu Tang Clan members Raekwon and RZA, Colby O’Donis, J. Holiday, the legendary Anne Lennox, Chris Brown and more.

Bacause of myself, I missed out on a chance to interview the flat out legend Sir Paul McCartney. It is a long story as to why I missed the McCartney interview but hopefully I will get another chance to interview the legendary McCartney.

While in Los Angeles myself and Twin Tammy J drove around town to have a few meeting. We went to Baldwin Hills to visit former Seattle minister Rev Cecil Murry and also had a meeting with the Moody Twins. Drove though Inglewood. It was the first time I had been in Inglewood in my many visits to L.A.

As far as I know, we were the only Seattle or Northwest media in the house at the AMA’s. Of course I did not have a chance to watch to much of the show. But the show featured 19 performances with artists like Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, New Kids On the Block, Pussycat Dolls, Coldplay and more.

Chris Brown was a big winner. He won three awards. One of them was “Favorite Artist Of The Year.” Keys and West took home two awards.

Mariah Carey was given award for becoming the solo artist with the most number one hits of all time. And Anne Lennox was given a “Award of Merit” award for her work with the groundbreaking Eurythmics and her solo career.

Again it was a great trip to Los Angeles to cover the 36th Annual American Music Awards for the first time. We will be airing programs from the AMA’s in the very near future on Music Inner City TV on Comcast On Demand all over Western Washington state and right here on Music Inner City Online!!
