Starting in the fall of this year, a new African American owned television outlet will be on the air. Hopefully it will air from the start here in Seattle, Washington. It is called Bounce TV.
And unlike Black Entertainment Television, it will be African American owned. B.E.T is NOT black owned readers so we all need to realize this point.
And what I am reading about the new TV outlet it will be great to watch. Unlike B.E.T. A few of the owners of new Bounce TV are former Atlanta mayor Andrew Young and Martin Luther King III of course the son of the great MLK Jr.
In my strong opinion the programs on B.E.T SUCKS!! Their are only a few shows worth watching on the outlet and that is it in my opinion. The reality show that features Toya and “The Game” a few others. Their is hardly any news programs on B.E.T. They took off “B.E.T Nightly News” a few years ago that was hosted by Jackie Reid. The question is why? The news program was VERY important to the African American community. Why they took it off is beyond me.
Ever since Robert Johnson sold B.E.T their programming has gone down hill in my opinion. Yeah millions will watch the “B.E.T Awards” but then what?
Again, please read about Bounce TV in the link above. It will be a TRUE African American owned TV outlet for us the viewers. With a well rounded list of programs. Again, Bob Johnson DID NOT SELL BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TV TO AFRICAN AMERICANS.
We here at “Music Inner City News Magazine” will be here to give you much more news on the brand new African American owned broadcast outlet Bounce TV. A true black owned broadcast outlet…….unlike B.E.T!! Gordon Curvey
