Usher Holds Contest For Teens To Direct His New Video (mtv news)

Usher is giving aspiring video directors the chance of a lifetime. From December 16th though January 31st, the singer is hosting a contest to give 13 to 18 year olds the opportunity to gain real life experience shooting a video for him.

By logging onto Got-Noise.com, teens with any level of experience can apply for the contest, sponsored by the Body by Milk campaign. In March, contestants will be selected and flown to Los Angeles to work in one of two teams. The teams will have one week to put together an original concept for Usher’s next video. Usher will be around to offer the contestants any advice they need.

“I am so excited to be the first artist involved with the Body by Milk/Got Noise? music video program, as it gives me another way to give back, inspire young people and also reinvent music video. It also sends out a message to my fans about the importance of healthy living. That’s something I believe in and want teens to recognize.”

In April, the two videos will make their debut, and fans can watch and vote for the winner. The winning team members will get a VIP package including tickets to an Usher concert, new Apple laptops and editing software.

Usher and his wife, Tamekma Raymond, just welcomed their second son, Naviyd Ely Raymond recently. The couple also have a 1-year old, Usher Raymond V.
